Prayer Can Change Our World

It’s hard to believe it’s already been one year since our first Candle-Light Prayer Vigil at the Coffee County Courthouse.  On Monday night, August 8th, we will once again gather at the Courthouse to pray for our city, county, state, and nation.  THAT’S ONLY ONE WEEK AWAY!

Many bridges have been built and many relationships have been forged during the past 12 months and I am convinced prayer has been God’s tool to accomplish that.  With that in mind, I am excited to consider what God will do in the next 12 months.  But before we dare look ahead, we need to focus on this year’s Candle-Light Prayer Vigil.  This has been a very busy summer and we are behind on our efforts to publicize this year’s prayer gathering.  We desperately need you to help us get the word out!

On Monday night, August 8th at 8:00 P.M., we will once again gather on the north side of the courthouse, the same side on which Bobby’s Treat Shop is located, to read from God’s Word, pray, and sing.  All you need to do is attend and perhaps bring a lawn chair.  It’s that simple.

Our principles remain unchanged:

1) We stand united in declaring that Jesus is our only hope.

2) We stand united in praying for Revival in America’s churches.

3) We stand united in defending Biblical marriages.

4) We stand united in building Biblical families.

5) We stand united in protecting our First Amendment Rights.

Please, help us publicize this event.  Tell everyone you know.  Get the word out on Facebook and social media.  Distribute some flyers.  Talk to your friends who go to other churches.  Spread the word at work and school.  Tell any pastors you know to encourage their church members to participate.  Make some phone calls.

Prayer can change our world.  In Matthew 18:19-20 (NASB95) we have a precious promise from Jesus Himself, “Again I say to you, that if two of you agree on earth about anything that they may ask, it shall be done for them by My Father who is in heaven. For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst.”

Then Jesus said in John 14:13-14 (NASB95) , “Whatever you ask in My name, that will I do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it.”

Has there ever been a more important time to come together and pray for our county and country?  Join us for prayer on Monday, August 8th, at 8 PM at the Coffee County Courthouse.  It’s easy to remember.  The eighth day of the eighth month at 8:00 P.M.  Be there!
