"One Day He’s Coming—Oh, Glorious Day!”

Today the leaders of our nation and world seem so angry and divided.  We live in a day of increasing bitterness, violence, and depravity.  Just watching the evening news discourages and overwhelms most of us.  So where is the hope?  Where is the peace?  Will things just continue to get worse and worse?  Or is there an answer to man’s most pressing problems?

The answer to the world’s problems does not lie in the politics of peace but in the Prince of Peace.  And Jesus Christ is our Prince of Peace.

Real hope for the world will never be found in the strength and intellect of man.  Jesus alone is our Hope for this World.

Politics and policies can never get to the root of the world’s greatest problem, sin.  Only Jesus can change the heart and unless the heart is changed,  man’s greatest problems will not be solved.

1 Peter 1:3-5 (NASB95) says, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,  to obtain an inheritance which is imperishable and undefiled and will not fade away, reserved in heaven for you,  who are protected by the power of God through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.”

As believers we have A LIVING HOPE AND A LASTING PEACE IN CHRIST JESUS.

Romans 12:12 (ESV) tells us as Christians to, “Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.”

When the trials and tribulations of this world get you down remember that we have a living hope and a lasting peace in Christ Jesus.  One day He is coming back.  One day He will judge the lost and deliver the saved.  One day the darkness of night will be driven away and the wolf will lay down with the lamb.

Many years ago J. Wilbur Chapman wrote;

“One day the trumpet will sound for His coming,

One day the skies with His glories will shine;

Wonderful day, my beloved ones bringing;

Glorious Savior, this Jesus is mine!”

“Living, He loved me; dying, He saved me;

Buried, He carried my sins far away;

Rising, He justified freely forever;

One day He’s coming—oh, glorious day!”

Until that blessed day arrives let us take courage in the wonderful words of Isaiah 26:1-4, 9 (KJV), “In that day shall this song be sung in the land of Judah; We have a strong city; salvation will God appoint for walls and bulwarks.  Open ye the gates, that the righteous nation which keepeth the truth may enter in. Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.  Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength ... With my soul have I desired thee in the night; yea, with my spirit within me will I seek thee early: for when thy judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness.”
