🌱 Short Family ReadingWhen Jesus began His ministry, He didn’t start with a program — He started with people. In Matthew 4, Jesus called fishermen to follow Him. He didn’t offer them a quick transaction or a one-time decision. He invited them into a relationship that would transform their lives over time. That’s how faith makes an impact on our neighbors too — through real relationships. People don’t usually move from “not interested” to “fully following Jesus” in one conversation. They move step by step, often beginning with trust. When neighbors meet us, they naturally ask:Can I trust you? (Character)Do I enjoy being around you? (Chemistry)Do you know what you’re talking about? (Competence)Do you understand me? (Credibility)As we grow spiritually, we also grow emotionally — becoming approachable, kind, dependable, and authentic. We don’t have to be perfect or preachy. We simply live as ourselves, filled with Jesus’ character. We pray for people, listen to their stories, share our own, and invite them into community. The gospel changes hearts. Our role is to love faithfully and point to Jesus. So here’s the big question:When your neighbors meet you, do they experience something that feels like Jesus?💬 Family Conversation Starters👶 For Younger Kids (Preschool–Elementary)What do you think it means to “follow Jesus”?How can we be kind to someone who lives near us?If Jesus lived on our street, what do you think He would do?🧒 For Older Kids (Elementary–Middle School)Why do you think Jesus chose regular fishermen instead of famous leaders? What makes it easy or hard to be friendly to neighbors?Which is more important — telling people about Jesus or showing them what He’s like?
