Read: 1 Corinthians 14:1–25God gives His people different spiritual gifts, but those gifts aren’t meant to make us look important or special. They are meant to help other people.Paul reminds the church to pursue love and to desire the things God wants to give them. He especially emphasizes using spiritual gifts in ways that build others up, encourage them, and help them know God.That means we don’t have to be the loudest, smartest, or most experienced person in the room to be useful to God. God can work through every person—including you!A simple way to begin is to pray:“God, what do You want to do IN me today, and what do You want to do THROUGH me for someone else?”Then pay attention. Maybe God reminds you of someone who needs encouragement. Maybe you notice someone who feels left out. Maybe you have an opportunity to pray, help, listen, or speak a kind word.We don’t have to force a spiritual experience. We simply make ourselves available to God and look for ways to love people well.Remember: God gives gifts so we can give ourselves away.
