ISSUE 18, VOLUME 4 CONNECTIONSApril 20,2025STOUT MEMORIALWE EXIST TO SEE ALL PEOPLE FIND HOPE, HEALING AND WHOLENESS THROUGH JESUS CHRIST. What makes a sunrise special?Song writers from Charles Wesley to Dolly Parton have found inspiration in the morning sunrise. From “Christ, Whose Glory that Fills the Skies” to “I can see the light of a brand-new day”, writers have penned feelings into a sunrise.Whatever the night of darkness may have held for us, the sun comes up in the morning. And that sun reminds us of the resurrection power of the Son. Night gives way today. Jesus broke the bonds of death and darkness and because of him, we need no longer fear death. As Frederick Buechner wrote in his book Whistling in the Dark: “When it comes to just what happened, there can be no certainty. That something unimaginable happened, there can be no doubt.” (p. 42)Death was not the final word in Jesus’ story. As Adam Hamilton says to each of his Easter morning worshipers, “I not only believe it, I am counting on it.”“He lives, he Lives, Christ Jesus lives today!”Pastor Helen’s Weekly ScriptureActs 10:34-43John 20:1-18THIS WEEK AT STOUT*Sunday, April 20 Easter Sunday 6:30 am Sunrise Service 10:45am Traditional Worship 5:30pm Eureka small group meeting *Monday, April 21Church Office Closed 6:30pm Cub Scout Planetarium Trip 7 pm Troop 12 7 pm Girl Scouts *Tuesday, April 22 *Wednesday, April 23 545pm God and Family Course 7 pm Chancel Choir *Thursday, April 24 *Friday, April 25 OMR Desserts *Saturday, April 26 OMR Dessert Deliveries **COMING SOON** May 2-3 — UWF Yard Sale May 10—Blue and Gold Graduation Volunteers are needed for Old Man Rivers Desserts and Deliveries this coming weekend March 21st and 22nd.
