CONNECTIONS

August 10, 2025

WE EXIST TO SEE ALL PEOPLE FIND HOPE, HEALING AND WHOLENESS THROUGH JESUS CHRIST.

Faith That Looks Forward

“Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” (Hebrews 11:1)

This week’s readings remind us that faith is more than belief—it’s trust in God’s promises, even when we don’t see the full picture. In Hebrews 11, we hear about Abraham and others who followed God’s call without knowing exactly where it would lead. They lived as “strangers and foreigners,” holding on to the hope of a better country—a heavenly one.

Likewise, in Luke 12, Jesus encourages His disciples, saying, “Do not be afraid, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.” He reminds us to stay ready, to live with open hands and expectant hearts.

Faith means trusting that God is working, even in the waiting. It means preparing ourselves not just for what is, but for what is to come—living today with an eye on eternity.

As we move through this week, may we find courage to walk by faith, even when the road is uncertain. Let us be people who live with hope, who stay ready, and who trust that God’s promises are worth holding on to.

 Reflection Question:
Where in your life is God inviting you to trust Him more deeply—and how can you take one small step of faith this week?
