                         Did You Know? 

Jesus wasn’t the only one to be part of a parade on Palm Sunday. 

Pontius Pilate, the Roman governor of Judea would have entered from the West and bringing with him 1,000 Roman soldiers. The show of force was designed to suppress any thoughts of rebellion during the Passover. King Herold Antipas entered from the north. He ruled over Galilee and knew how to use violence to suppress the people. He was the one who had John the Baptist beheaded. 

On Monday, Jesus through out the money-changers. On Tuesday, the chief priests and religious leaders continue to confront Jesus. On Wednesday, Jesus preaches on being ready for the Kingdom to come. A prostitute anoints his feet at dinner. On Thursday, Jesus takes the Jewish Passover and makes it a meal about sacrifice.  He is arrested late that night. 

On Friday, he was tried, tortured, and crucified. 

 

 

Gabe Floyd is working on his Eagle Scout Project for Jackson Middle School and he is seeking donations. His project is to create a Sensory room and an Emotional Regulation Room at Jackson for both Special Education and General Education students. Preschool News

The Preschool Committee would like to thank the congregation for their support of the Christmas in July sale. Your donations, time, cookies… were greatly appreciated. We made about $1500!!

Preschool Update:    Preschool will be starting Tues, Sept 1. Right now, we have 8 students enrolled. We will always welcome more. We can't wait to see their smiling faces!

Basement Quilting Room Cleanup
The quilting room in the basement has been cleaned out. If any of the items in the attached photos belong to you, please pick them up by August 17. 

After that date, any unclaimed items will be donated or disposed of to help keep the space organized. 

We also have two quilting frames available. If you're interested or know of someone who could use them, please let us know.
