Week 4 – Behold! Redeeming Love

Family Advent Reading & Conversation Starters

December 21, 2025

Christ’s love doesn’t just comfort—He restores and makes all things new.

Read: John 3:16–17; 1 John 4:7–12

Reflect:
God’s love is not passive; it is redeeming. In Jesus, love takes action—healing, restoring, and pursuing us with grace. Advent invites us to behold a love strong enough to enter our brokenness and gentle enough to transform our hearts from the inside out.

Young Kids (Ages 3–7)
  • Who is someone you love? How do they show love to you?
  • God sent Jesus because He loves us. How does that make you feel?
  • What is one loving thing you can do for someone today?

Older Kids (Ages 8–12)
  • What does it mean that God loves the whole world?
  • How does Jesus show us what real love looks like?
  • When someone makes a mistake, how can love help make things better?

Teens (Ages 13–18)
  • God’s love doesn’t just comfort us—it changes us. Where do you need God’s love to bring healing or restoration?
  • What makes loving others hard sometimes, even when we know God loves us?
  • How can you show Christ’s redeeming love in a real situation this week?

Adults
  • How has God’s redeeming love restored something broken in your life?
  • Where is God inviting you to love actively rather than passively this season?
  • Who might experience God’s love through your compassion this Advent?

Pray:
Father, thank You for Your redeeming love. Shape my heart to reflect Your compassion and teach me to love others as You have loved me.
