Week 1: Pursuing the Shepherd (Abundant Life Begins with Jesus)Day 4: Protection from the ThiefScripture: Ephesians 6:10-11 NLT "A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil."Observation and Reflection: The word "armor" in Greek (panoplia) refers to a complete set of defensive and offensive weapons. Paul emphasizes the importance of wearing God’s full armor to resist the schemes of the devil, whose Greek name (diabolos) means "slanderer" or "accuser." The spiritual battle we face is not against flesh and blood but against powers and principalities (Ephesians 6:12). How often do you feel unprepared or vulnerable in life’s battles? God equips us with truth, righteousness, faith, salvation, His Word, and prayer to stand firm. Reflect on how each piece of armor has been a defense in your spiritual journey.A soldier wouldn’t go into battle unarmed, yet many Christians face spiritual attacks without relying on God’s armor. Imagine a firefighter entering a burning building without protective gear—disaster is inevitable.Martin Luther’s hymn, "A Mighty Fortress Is Our God," was inspired by his reliance on God’s protection during spiritual attacks. He declared that God’s Word was his weapon against the enemy.Application and Action: Reflect on which piece of the armor you may be neglecting. Read Ephesians 6:13-18 and visualize yourself putting on each piece. Meditate on this quote by John Wesley: "Give me a hundred men who fear nothing but sin and desire nothing but God, and I care not whether they be clergymen or laymen; such alone will shake the gates of hell." Prayer: Lord, I thank You for equipping me with Your armor. Help me stand strong in Your mighty power, fully prepared to face the enemy’s schemes. Teach me to rely on truth, righteousness, faith, and the power of Your Word. Amen.=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=Overflowing Grace - A 21-day prayer and fasting devotional guide to live in God's abundanceWeek 1: Pursuing the Shepherd (Abundant Life Begins with Jesus)Key Focus: Understanding Jesus as our source of life, our guide, and our provider.Daily Topics: Day 1: The Source of Life (John 10:10)Day 2: Hearing His Voice (John 10:27)Day 3: Trusting the Shepherd’s Path (Psalm 23:1-3)Day 4: Protection from the Thief (Ephesians 6:10-11)Day 5: The Shepherd’s Provision (Philippians 4:19)Day 6: Rest for the Soul (Matthew 11:28-30)Week 2: Cultivating the Heart (Living in God’s Abundance)Key Focus: Developing a heart that aligns with God’s abundance and character.Daily Topics: Day 7: Abiding in Christ (John 15:4-5)Day 8: A Heart of Worship (Psalm 100:1-5)Day 9: Surrendering All (Romans 12:1)Day 10: Overflowing with Joy (Nehemiah 8:10)Day 11: Walking in Faith (Hebrews 11:1)Day 12: Renewing the Mind (Romans 12:2)Week 3: Advancing His Kingdom (Sharing the Abundant Life)Key Focus: Living out and sharing the abundant life with others.Daily Topics: Day 13: The Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20)Day 14: Compassion for Others (Matthew 9:36)Day 15: Bold Faith (Hebrews 11:6)Day 16: Declaring His Goodness (Psalm 34:8)Day 17: Living with Purpose (Jeremiah 29:11)Day 18: Eternal Perspective (Colossians 3:1-2)Day 19: Generosity That Reflects God (2 Corinthians 9:6-7)Day 20: Compassion in Action (James 1:27)Day 21: Living the Abundant Life (John 10:10)If you'd like a physical version, click here for a downloadable and printable copy of the full 21-day devotional. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
