Day 12: Renewing the Mind
Scripture: Romans 12:2 NLT
"Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect."
Observation and Reflection: The Greek word for "transform" (
metamorphoō) suggests a complete change, like a caterpillar becoming a butterfly. God’s transformation begins in our minds as we align our thoughts with His Word. Reflect on how worldly thinking may have influenced you. Are you allowing God to renew your mind daily?
Renewing the mind is like cleaning a window to let the light shine through. The clearer the glass, the more light enters the room.
C.S. Lewis experienced a transformation of his mind when he surrendered to God, going from an atheist to one of Christianity’s greatest thinkers.
Application and Action: Identify one thought pattern that needs renewal. Replace it with a scripture to meditate on. Reflect on this quote by Joyce Meyer: "Where the mind goes, the man follows."
