Day 2 - Seven Proclamations: Assurance of Salvation

Seven Powerful Proclamations of Jesus on The Cross Devotional

By Rev. Myk Alba | March 26, 2024
Day 2: Assurance of Salvation
Jesus’ words on the cross were Words of Salvation.
Luke 23:43: Verily, I say unto you today, thou shalt be with me in paradise.

Because of the finished work on The Cross, We can proclaim the Words of Jesus from The Cross over our life and affirming that We are saved!

The Promise of Paradise
In the hush of reflection, let us turn to the Cross, the crux of human history and the fountain of eternal hope. Upon that rugged wood, amidst suffering and sorrow, Jesus spoke words of incomparable promise, "Verily, I say unto you today, thou shalt be with me in paradise."

This statement is not merely a comfort; it is an assurance—a divine promise that the gates of paradise, once closed, are now open. It is an affirmation that in Jesus, salvation is not a distant dream, but a present reality.

The Words of Jesus: Our Proclamation of Hope
The words spoken to a repentant thief are spoken to us: an invitation to a life beyond the transient, to an eternity crafted by divine hands. As we carry the message of the Cross in our hearts, we also carry the assurance of salvation. We proclaim it in our words, our actions, our very being.

Let this proclamation echo in the valleys of doubt and the mountains of despair. Let it be the song that stirs us in the morning and the whisper that settles us at night. We are not forsaken; we are not forgotten. We are, because of the Cross, saved.

Affirming Our Salvation
With humility, let us affirm this truth: We are saved. In the shadow of the Cross, our chains are broken, and our spirits are lifted. We affirm not only with our lips but with our lives that the promise of paradise is sealed in the blood of the Lamb.

Salvation is not by our merit but by His mercy, not by our grasp but by His gift. We are invited to accept this gift with open hearts, knowing that it is the anchor in the storms and the light in the darkness.

Prayer of Gratitude
Heavenly Father,
We are in awe of Your promise, "thou shalt be with me in paradise." Thank you for the assurance of salvation, for the promise of eternity with You. May we live as people of hope, proclaiming Your salvation to all corners of the earth. Help us to hold fast to the truth of the Cross, and in doing so, may we lead lives that draw others to Your embrace. Amen.

As you journey onward, may this devotional be a reminder of the steadfast promise of salvation offered to us through Jesus’ words on the Cross. Let it be the foundation upon which you build your life, and the assurance that guides you through each day.

As we fast and pray, may these devotionals for the next seven days bring us into an awesome wonder of Jesus, Our Lord, God, and King!
